it's been a great day today!!!! haha... seems opposite of that PPP day... everything went wrong that day, today everything went right! =D
it has been an eventful but successful day today. look at my schedule:
8am-9.30am ------ Physics Lecture
9.30am-10am ----- Travel
10am-11am ------- Badminton @ BishanSportsHall
11am-11.30am ---- Travel
11.30am-1.20pm -- Baking mom's bday cake+pack bag+lunch
1.20pm-2pm ------ Travel
2pm-3pn ---------- OSLE Magic Grp PracticeTime
3pm-530pm ------ Nap, practice magic
530pm-8pm ------ OSLE Magic Class Performance
8.15pm ----------- Birthday Dinner with family
9++pm ----------- Magic Show (by me of course) and cake cutting
Anyway, to make the day more eventful... here's some more things that happened, adding to the excitement:
*so tired last night, forgot to set alarm, woke up 45min later than targetted
*wasted 20min of badminton court waiting for my siblings to arrive, becoz there was a delay in buying cake ingredients becoz mom left home late
*while waiting for siblings, a mediacorp actress came by and asked me for directions to the badminton court
*played badminton beside 2 mediacorp actor/actress and their friends, though actually, that's no big deal, but yah, slightly interesting
*locked outside house becoz Charm went down market to buy banana becoz sis says tat she couldnt find very ripe banana to use for cake, and the one she bought wasnt ripe enough, so Charm went down to try her luck, which she got the banana successfully
*wanted to start, to realise that since sis couldnt find pecan nuts... she got CASHEW NUTS to substitute instead. sat down and wondered whether cashew nuts went well with cake, and Charm said that this kinda nuts need to be roasted?!
*i rushed downstairs to change the nuts to walnuts (which i know definitely goes well with cake. wonder why my sis dint take that in the first place though she saw it), and grab a tray of eggs (becoz the ones we have at home are small) and chocolate bits (which sis thought i said dun want becoz mom doesnt like too sweet... i said less, not none)
*in total, 3 TRIPS down to the market to get ingredients for cake
*becoz of me, OSLE grp practice time shifted from 1pm to 2pm start. in the end, i was the earliest (if they have started at 1pm, i would be the latest. what a contradiction!) and everyone finally all arrived at 2.30pm
*for my grp's magic performance, i'm the first narrator... and guess what? the trainer put my group first, which means in the performance, i'm first to speak. GASP! no wonder my nervousness suddenly shot up....
*didnt have time to prep and plan my magic performance for birthday gal
*mom dint know we baked/prepared birthday cake for her at home. she ate a slice of cheesecake during lunch, ate another slice of cheesecake during dinner @ Cafe Cartel, and bought 2 more slices of cake from there to bring home.
*made a mistake at one of my magic tricks, spoiling the magic a little
The Success:
*Had a GREAT badminton game with my sis and bro
*Managed to finish mixing and doing everything for the cake, except witnessing the baking process itself, and eat lunch as well
*The performance, though not perfect (could had been better), but was quite successful, most of the things went quite well
*GPP FINALLY APPROVED!!!!!
*Dinner @ Cafe Cartel with family was good. I think they had a good time of family fellowship (which quite long dint really have) before i arrived (later becoz of OSLE)
*Managed to think/plan for mom's birthday magic performance while travelling home
*Magic performance turned out quite well, despite one trick that dint went well, and mom enjoyed it
*THE CAKE WAS GREAT!!!! the 'decor' was soooooooo good, and the presentation was sooooooooo good, taste as well, that mom was tricked that we bought it from somewhere. and the taste... YUMMY! not bland, but not too sweet either (becoz mom dont have that much a sweet tooth).... not to say for the fact that we DID NOT try this recipe before, and made our own slight adjustments as we made the cake, and the last time we baked a cake was years ago, when i was in primary school, probably lower primary too... (i still remembered... it was a banana spongue cake...)
*OH! and also not to forget the last min idea that came to me as i was travelling from school to dinner@ J8 - an excuse to get my sis to go to kitchen so that she could get the cake/light the candles without mom suspecting. the excuse was that i needed a cup of water for my last trick, and it needs to be real real full, such that not even one drop can be put... blah blah.
It really was a great birthday celebration for her. One of the best i believe. I'm glad of that. becoz last year she was overseas on her birthday, in the end we dint celebrate. so this year i wanted it to be real special for her, such that it'll like sort of make up for last year's too.
I guess what she really enjoyed/cherished about today was...
1. family fellowship over scrumptious dinner @ Cafe Cartel (though it was her suggesstion)
2. special magic performance for her
3. very yummy special cake baked by her kids for her
4. the love and effort we put in baking the cake (though i had a tight schedule, i still baked. we went down 3 times to get ingredients...)
5. eating yummy cheesecakes... haha...
tHANK yOU GoD fOr eVERYthING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Without your favour, it'll probably be a disaster, and my day could have been a wreck, becoz there is so many loopholes, which the devil could lay his hands on, so many things that could hav easily go wrong and ruin the day.
tHANK yOU LoRD fOr mAkING eVERYthING sUCH a sUCCeSS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
